‘The future is yours, preserve it.’

Walter Fauntroy

Future

Caterpillars do not worry about their future.
Without anxiety or fear, they simply go about their days, eating and growing until they transform into beautiful butterflies.

For us, however, it is much more complicated. We become so consumed by our struggles and so preoccupied with dwelling on the past that we often forget to look ahead, to the bright future that awaits us.

Every day, we make our future more challenging in different ways. One of the main reasons is that we are out of touch with our intuition. Another is that we fail to learn from past experiences, leading us to repeat old, undesirable patterns. These behaviours create a cycle that keeps us trapped, making the future nothing more than a continuation of our unsuccessful past.

But even if maintaining a positive attitude about the future is difficult, it is not impossible.

Make a commitment to yourself today: choose to embrace a positive future. The future is where you are headed, so why not look forward to it with hope instead of fear?

To bring something into your future, you must first visualize it as already there. Can you find twenty minutes today to invest in your future?
Make a list of meaningful goals you hope to achieve in the coming year. Write them down in your calendar and place a copy on your wall.

Whenever you feel discouraged, revisit your list. Remind yourself that the future is something to anticipate with excitement, not something to fear.

Affirmation: from now on, I choose to embrace my positive future
