‘The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not ‘Eureka!’(I have found it)
but ‘That’s funny…! (Isaac Asimov)
New beginnings
Every day is a new beginning; every minute is a new beginning. The journey of recovery is very long one. It is a chain of new beginnings.
Recovery from an Eating Distress is a Discovery. During this process we usually discover things, which were not known to us before, feelings like freedom, peace and self-appreciation.
From today, remind yourself that every minute you are beginning to discover something new, something good – something different. Some people call it ‘hard work, other people call it ‘fun’. We need to learn to enjoy this process as well.
Very often in the past we liked new beginnings for wrong the reasons. Another day, another diet. When we lose the weight then we start to live. The reality is that when we start to live, that’s when our weight will be right for us. This time we don’t begin any diets, this time we begin to learn to feel the life around us, to open our eyes to see the world, and to open our hearts to love one another.
For today ask yourself what do you expect from recovery?
What do you expect from your new beginning?
I have the right to a fresh start whenever I choose.
