Self-Help Tip of the Week: Learn to eat with people

Dining is one of the pleasures people with Eating Distress deprive themselves off. We can always focus on it – that is hard – or I can do it, important is to be willing to start. You could invite a friend, who understand and you could prepare something which will be easier in your stage of recovery like today’s recipe. Enjoy the company, focus on your friend and instead listening to the condition, listen to some nice music and what interesting your friend has to say. You will discover that to share meal with someone is much easier then you believe it and very very enjoyable, connecting experience.

Did you know?

  • That beef is a good source of iron, protein, vitamins B3, B5, B6 and phosphorus and zinc and it is very important for your healthy immune system. Good source of vitamin B12. Many people with Eating Distress have very low levels. B12 is necessary for the normal development of red blood cells and the functioning of all cells, particularly in the bone marrow, nervous system and intestines.
  • That chilli helps to improve your immune function, reduce inflammation and increase circulation.
  • That black beans are a very good source of cholesterol-lowering fiber. Black beans' high fiber content prevents blood sugar levels from rising too rapidly after a meal, making these beans an especially good choice for individuals with diabetes, insulin resistance or hypoglycemia. When combined with whole grains such as brown rice, black beans provide virtually fat-free high quality protein.
