Comments from Past Trip to Lanzarote
This week was turning point in my recovery…
I learnt so much about myself and about life. Being away in a different environment with support really showed me how far I had come and how far I could go. I saw a taste of what life really was and I realized I wanted it and I wanted it badly. What I learnt in that week would have taken me months to learn. -H

On this trip, I felt free, grateful and alive. It’s worth it to all those who may be afraid to go. We all have the same fears, no one things little of you, each of us understands and helps each other to conquer our fears. - J

It helped my confidence in talking to people in a group and on a one-to-one situation.
It helped with my independence as it was the first time I was abroad without family. - L

I learned how to use my senses.
It helped my body image
I learned to look at the beauty around me which helped me to stop living in my head all the time. -H

Lanzarote was a fantastic learning experience for me. Words cannot describe just how enormous this learning was. It pushed me so much further into my recovery than I could ever have imagined!
It has been the most powerful week in my recovery, even though really emotional! It turned recovery into a special journey. -K

News from intensive workshop in Prague, April 16th-19th 2009:

The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience. - Eleanor Roosevelt.

We brought luggage full of memories from our Prague experience and a richness of learning on this trip which we will be sharing soon. Learning about life from the richness of architecture, Tosca opera and other human creativity in the heart of Europe. Another side of our learning was a workshop in Charles University, facilitated by Professor Hana Papežová, where we learned about how intensity of treatment is very helpful. Professor Papežová provided information on the latest clinical research and its impact on recovery for eating distress and eating disorders.
